Intech Controller freezes Ableton when connected [FIXED - no an INTECH ISSUE]

I have not had my Intech controller (VSN1R) connected for several months as I have been working on some projects that needed full focus. The reason I disconnected the VSN1 was because I was getting random freezes in Ableton, and suspected that it could be the Intech controller because of the timing of starting to use it and the start of these issues. Anyhow I did not have time to delve into it so I just unplugged it, as well as doing a bunch of other clean-up things suggested by Ableton support.

Since unplugging (and doing the Ableton support changes), no freezing occurred.

I just plugged it back in today with the intention of setting it up to use in my Live set and …BANG…Ableton freeze is back! I cannot see any pattern as to when the freezes occur, but it does seem to be project dependent - ie some projects I can leave it connected and it’s all good and others it will always freeze.

I have just installed the latest grid editor package, and checked my firmware which needed updating now…so am now on 1.5.1 after updating.

Checked back on a project that previously froze Ableton and it did not immediately freeze Ableton (but it is not consistent in how long it takes). I need to remove Intech again as I am preparing for a gig and cannot afford to have these issues occur.

Is anyone else experiencing this, and/or any suggestions on where to look to try resolve this issue which is preventing me using the device.

I thought I better jump back in here…seems I might have been incorrectly blaming the intech controller…just a bad coincidence that the freeze happened straight after I connected the device. I have found another issue (relating to NI VST), that seems to be the culprit.

Sorry for the bum steer!
