Strange behaviour - assistance with troubleshooting?

Hi - I am just received my EN16 and a few other goodies and am having a blast, but I have run into my first issue that I am having difficulty troubleshooting.

As a default “blank slate” configuration I went through and assigned midi CC number 1-64 to each encoder (4 band of 16). Everything works as expected with the exception of CC#38 - and I cannot figure out why?

I have attached a screenshot - in it you will see the CC#37 and CC#39 working as expected - and then some crazy values - those values are trigged by the CC#38 assignment (seen in element config).

This only happens on the second bank - banks 1, 3, 4 all behave normally. I have deleted the config, recreated from scratch, copied from other elements, etc. But can’t seem to figure out what could be causing the issue.

Any ideas? Thanks for any assistance.

Hi there!

This is an Editor visual bug thankfully, there is nothing wrong with your module!
You can find the bug report here: Default MIDI monitor shows gibberish values when sending MIDI from 7th element of a module · Issue #846 · intechstudio/grid-editor · GitHub

The devteam is releasing an Editor update as we speak, so the fix should be out soon.

Hi - thank you for the response. I am afraid I do not believe this is only a visual bug. That particular CC will not work in any of my applications.

Are there are additional details I can provide to help troubleshoot?

This is good to know because I ran into this as well and ended up downgrading everything. Happy to hear it’s just a UI thing!

Does the encoder still misbehave when you use the MIDI monitor in debug mode (switch in the top right)?
