I have loaded the package, but have no ideas what it is meant to do. Is there a user guide somewhere, or any reference material at all. My understanding of the packages is that they should facilitate better interaction with the application they reference through providing additional actions specific to that app. Is that right?
I am finding that this controller is just eating up so much time trying to work out how to use it, and the lack of decent reference material seriously compounds that. I love what this thing can do (from what I am guessing), just getting it to do it, is a a serious endevour that is taking away much music making time…but I am persisting, because I think it will be good in the long run…
The Ableton.JS package is required for some configurations, for example this workflow (which you can also find in the Editor under the Workflows folder) Ableton Selected Track Control.
Ensured I had the Ableton Package loaded and active
Loaded the profile “Ableton Selected Track Control” to that page
Stored.
Launched Live
VSN1 device has nothing on LCD screen, selecting a control in live and moving encoder does nothing. No buttons have any effect in live and nothing causes any change in the LCD screen.
Thanks for the reply. I still don’t understand whether I am doing something wrong, have the wrong expectation of this package or something is broken…or all of the above
One update for today - I was working with my VSN1 and just noticed that now, when I press buttons 1-8, it shows Volume/Pan/Send A/Send B/Mute …etc
So something has ‘taken’, although I cannot get it to have any impact on Live despite trying all those buttons and twiddling the encoded.
Where can I get some documentation on this to understand what it is meant to do, and/or what I am doing wrong.
I am super keen to incorporate this controller into my live set-up (and buy more from the Intech Suite) but the lack of any useful user guides means that it is at risk of being shelved because it is just eating up WAY too much time trying to get it set-up, and keeping me from doing the important thing which is producing music!!!
